Hanuman is devotion made fearless — strength without ego, loyalty without limit. Revered as the embodiment of courage, protection and unwavering service, he carries an energy that's both fierce and gentle: a guardian spirit said to ward off negativity and bring resolve to whoever keeps him close. Bring a little of that into your space.
Hand-moulded by a national award-winning Cheriyal artist from Telangana, this decorative wall bust continues a tradition rooted in the Kakatiya and Vijayanagara dynasties. Cheriyal mask-making grew out of the same Nakashi artist lineage that once narrated the Mahabharata and Ramayana through painted scrolls — fittingly, this piece depicts Hanuman, the devoted monkey-god of the Ramayana, rendered in the region's bold, expressive folk style.
Shaped using the ancient five-step Cheriyal process — moulding, drying, decorating, smoothing and hand-painting — from a mix of tamarind seed paste, rice starch, khadi cloth and white mud, the mask is finished in a vivid orange-red face with an ornate yellow patterned headdress detailed in red and green, bold black-outlined eyes, and pointed monkey ears — instantly recognisable and full of character.
No factories. No machines. Ever. Being entirely hand-painted, each piece carries small natural variations — its own quiet signature of being made by hand. Designed with a hanging loop at the back, ready to mount as a striking standalone piece or alongside the rest of the Cheriyal mask collection.
