Hand-painted by a national award-winning Cheriyal artist from Telangana, this decorative plate continues a tradition rooted in the Kakatiya and Vijayanagara dynasties. Cheriyal art was once used by the Nakashi artist community to narrate epics like the Mahabharata and Ramayana — here, that storytelling spirit conjures a mythical two-headed peacock, its pink feathered body and sweeping green-gold wings facing a woman seated quietly with a lotus, watched over by a small perched parrot, all set against a rich olive-green base.
Crafted using the traditional Cheriyal process — moulded, dried, decorated, smoothed and finally hand-painted in the region's signature bold palette — this piece carries forward a 13th-century craft lineage in a form made for contemporary walls.
No factories. No machines. Ever. Being entirely hand-painted, each plate carries small natural variations — its own quiet signature of being made by hand. A striking statement piece for a gallery wall, console, or shelf.
