Across her back sits a hand-worked blanket of fine cross-hatch brass, bordered in rope-twist trim and finished with small hanging tassels along the edge, the kind of detail that shows up because someone has spent real hours with their hands on the wax before it was ever cast. Her horns curve forward, a spiral rosette sits between them like a crown, and each leg is finished with its own delicate anklet ring. Even her tail is caught mid-motion, arched up and over.

In Hindu tradition, the cow and calf together are read as Kamdhenu - the wish-fulfilling mother of all cows and this pairing in particular is one of the most commonly kept pieces in Indian homes. Vastu Shastra holds that a cow and calf placed in the northeast or north of a home invites prosperity and calm into it; more simply, it's a piece about nourishment, continuity, and a bond that doesn't ask for anything back.
