Every āsmi london piece begins with an artisan's eye for what's already there and the Jali Nandi is a quiet masterclass in that instinct. Across Nandi's back, our artisan has built an entire coat from a single motif: a water-drop, coiled from hand-twisted rope brass and finished with a small circular point at its centre. Repeated row upon row, the effect is pure jali — light passing through hundreds of tiny openings, each one shaped by hand, no two quite identical.

The crown between Nandi's horns is worked in fine rosette detail, the ears carry their own soft curve, and the collar sits close at the throat with a rope-twist trim that echoes the body below. Every element - the muzzle, the brow, the set of the eyes - has been carried by hand until the bull feels less like a casting and more like a likeness. This is what happens when an artisan isn't just following a mould, but trying to capture something alive.

Cast in solid brass with a warm, aged-gold, Nandi rests in his traditional recumbent pose - watchful, steady, at ease. A piece for a console table, a puja corner, or a shelf that could use a little more soul.
