A larger, more theatrical piece for the collection — this hand-forged wrought iron deer stands tall on its hind legs, drumming away with quiet whimsy, finished entirely in matte black. A standout sculptural piece for a console, shelf, or mantel, with enough scale and personality to anchor a room on its own.

About the Craft

The Iron Craft of India, a GI-tagged art form, is a traditional technique rooted in India's rich tribal heritage. It is practised by the Lohar community — generational blacksmiths who skilfully hand-forge wrought iron into intricate decorative and functional pieces, often inspired by nature and local folklore. Each deer is individually shaped by hand using traditional hammering techniques passed down through generations, so subtle variations in form are part of its handmade character. Known for its rustic charm and durability, this craft beautifully reflects the essence of India's tribal identity.
